Summer Infant, Inc. Provides Support to Haiti

Summer Infant, Inc. (“Summer Infant” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ:SUMR) today announced that in addition to the charities within its core Summer Cares philanthropic program, it has extended additional support to Haiti including financial  aid and product donations.  Summer is committed to helping the people of Haiti in their time of need. Just prior to the earthquakes, Summer Infant donated a number of potty seats to a local orphanage that housed 130 children.  Previously, coffee cans were used in lieu of having the proper tools necessary for promoting a comfortable and successful potty training experience.  After the earthquakes, Summer Infant offered a matching employee donation program and was able to raise $1,500 in one weeks time.  These funds were donated to Haiti through the charitable organization, K.I.D.S. (Kids in Distressed Situations), and made it possible for K.I.D.S. to send $15,000 worth of new merchandise to the victims of the earthquake.  The funding was specifically applied to the sorting, distributing and shipping of the merchandise.  Additionally, through K.I.D.S, Summer Infant donated $16,000 worth of their own juvenile products.  The donated product was earmarked to aid in the restocking efforts of those who have lost so much, specifically orphanages and families with infants and toddlers.

“For years we have been giving to many local and national charitable organizations that are in keeping with our philosophy of making the world a better place for babies.  We are proud to extend our support to  helping people so deeply affected by the earthquake,” stated Jason Macari, President and CEO of Summer Infant.  “It is important to continually help those less fortunate than ourselves and we are proud to be able to support the healing process in any way possible.”
