“It Starts with One…and Reaches Millions” is the simple idea behind K.I.D.S.  Specifically, one caring response to one child in the crisis of poverty, with one donation of a new piece of clothing or shoes, a toy or book of their own or an educational product.  It’s about one gift, to one child at a time that builds hope, self-esteem and an opportunity to succeed.  Now multiply that by hundreds of thousands… even millions… and you can see how they make a difference in the lives of children dealing with poverty every day. 

There are six programs K.I.D.S. has established in support of their mission: caring for homeless families, fostering literacy, helping victims of domestic abuse, helping children of incarcerated parents as well as imprisoned youth, military families, and fighting the social symptoms of illness.  In support of these efforts, Summer Infant has donated millions of dollars worth of product to help babies, children and their families get through difficult times and circumstances.  We have also been called upon by K.I.D.S. to help financially – a recent task our employees jumped on in the wake of the earthquake in Haiti.
